Hello Brant,
Thank you for choosing to evaluate
Sitefinity CMS and contacting us. In order to be able to pinpoint the problem, we would like you to first check the following:
-
Did you set the project as a ASP.NET web application in IIS?
- Did you set the Default.aspx as a default document? If not, open the IIS
management console and find the application folder, open its properties
and select the Documents tab. Set the Default.aspx in the Enable Default Document list.
Also, please bear in mind the following points:
• You need to have .NET 2 Framework installed on the hosting machine.
• Make sure the .NET Framework is configured properly and is not damaged.
• Most probably, however, your IIS is not properly configured to use
ASP.NET. In general, this configuration is made by the .NET Framework
installation wizard, but sometimes it fails. Unfortunately, this issue
is not related to our product, thus the only solution we can give is
to uninstall the framework only (
not VS2005, if you are using it
) and install it again. This solution worked for a lot of our clients. In addition, you may check the following MS article:

We sincerely hope this information is helpful. Please do not hesitate to ask us if any other difficulties pop up.
Regards,
Rebecca
