Fresh installation 2.5

    Hi,

    I downloaded the evaluation version of Sitefinity 2.5 and installed the according to the help file. The insttaltion completes without any error. I also set the necessary security rights to the ASPNET user account as specified in the help file.

    However every access to http://localhost/telerik/Sitefinity2.5 results in a 404 Page not found. Also, I do not notice any virtual directory created under the IIS.

    This was installed on Win XP SP2 development machines (tried 2).

    Any idea what might be going wrong?

    Regards

    Hello Gunther,

    I may suggest that you create the necessary Sitefinty virtual directory manually. Follow the next instructions:

    1. Open Internet Information Server and right click on telerik virtual directory;
    2. Select New -> New Virtual Directory and follow the steps offered by Virtual Directory Creation Wizard. I suggest you name your virtual directory "Sitefinity 2.5". It must point to the place where Sitefinity 2.5 is installed. By default this is: C:\Program Files\telerik\Sitefinity2.5.
    3. Set Project Manager folder as web application folder - right click on Project Manager folder then select Properties option. Click on create button in Virtual Directory tab.
    4. And finally, you should set the directory security. Go to Directory Security tab - right click on Project Manager folder and select Properties option. Then select Directory Security tab. Click on Edit button and uncheck "Anonymous Access" and select "Integrated Windows authentication" check box.

    I think that this should help you. I have attached a file with print screens. If there are any other problems, please don't hesitate to contact us.

    Kind regards,

    Hi,

    I allready tried to create the virtual directory manually, but still had Anon access enabled. Disabling this got it working (after making both the Sitefinity2.5 and the ProjectManager Directory a virtual dir as well)

    Thx for the reply

    Gunther
