    Hi all,

We are currently in the final testing phase and the official release is expected before the end of the week. Once again we apologize for the delay.

The .NET 2.0 support is our top priority for the first update of SiteFinity. We are working on it and we will provide an ASP.NET 2.0 version in January 2005 at the latest.

    Kind regards,
    George

    Hi Shaun,

Unfortunately we've met some problems with this and we are still working on it. Sitefinity v2 .Net2.0 version is expected at the end of March at latest. We will do our best to release it earlier, but we cannot tell put an exact date at this time.

We are sorry for the delay.

    Greetings,
    George

Could you maybe elaborate a little more on some of the other features set to be released in v3? I have some things I was looking to try and incorporate into the site but if you are already working on it then I would rather wait until you release it. I know some things probably haven't been ironed out yet, but just curious as to what might be packaged into these highlights.

    Highlights of interest:
    Support for versioning
New scalable framework for pluggable modules
    Significantly improved API and architecture
    URL alias for pages

    Hello Jim,

    Find the answers below:

    > Support for versioning
When some content or a layout is changed and submitted, the old one is not lost, therefore later you can roll back to the pervious version.

    > New scalable framework for pluggable modules
This framework will allow modules such as News, Poles, Blogs, Schedule and etc to work together as plug-ins. Each module can be installed separately by uploading package or manually copping the necessary dlls to the bin folder of the site. All controls and administration panels of the module will be automatically available in the site.

    > Significantly improved API and architecture
We will introduce new namespaces and classes that will make for easier and more flexible development of custom controls and modules.

    > URL alias for pages
This feature will allow for multiple URLs to be specified for a single page. For example: “http://www.mydomain.com/producs” and “http://www.mydomain.com/goodies” can take you to the same page, say “products.aspx”.

    Have a nice day,

For the URL alias feature, this will just allow multiple entry points for one page, not to assign a url to the page like for an external link?

A better question is, will there be an external link property for a page in any of the future realeses, 2.5, 2.6, or 3.0?

To allow a page through the menu to go to an external link or file on the site rather than the page itself. I had mentioned this and I know it was added to the idea list. I was just wondering if it would make it out anytime soon.

    Hi Jim,

The new Page Manager will have the ability to work with external pages. This will allow links to external pages to appear in navigation. The feature is scheduled for version 3.0 of Sitefinity.

Please, review the Roadmap for more info on the upcoming releases:
