Search Index :: Redirecting to New Page

    Hello -
    I am running SF 3.7 and attempting to create a Search Index.  I have done so in the past without any issues, but upon creating one for a client today, I had an issue:

    Above is a screencast of what happened.  You will notice that I attempted to create a search index of All Pages, and in the middle of indexing, it "redirected" to another page.

    Any help solving this issue would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi,

    I'm sorry to hear about the problems you've had with your search index, the issue is very strange. Up to my knowledge you're the first to report this type of behavior. Can you please let us know a little bit more about your configuration - does the site run under load balancing, does indexing other content items show the same pattern, and if possible can you try recreating the index again and let us know if the issue persist.     I tried deleting all of the search indexes and start off fresh, but that did not work either.  After that, I tried a smaller sample size (only selected two groups of pages) and still had the exact same error.

    Any possible ideas as to why this happens?  Thank you!

    Hi Chris,

    Thank you for getting back to me. Can you please let us know if the page you're being redirected to is the same each time this issue occurs - it looks like it is form the videos, but you could tell better? Since we're rendering the pages internally to index their HTML content, is it possible that you have a widget that performs explicit redirects (e.g. Response.Redirect()) on that particular page, that would cause such behavior? If the page is the same each time, can you please inspect it and try recreating/moving it or excluding it from the index, and let us know if the issues persist.

    I appreciate your help.  After digging around some, the client had put an incorrect template file on 10 different pages.  For some reason, that was causing the error.
