    Hi,

    In below thread
    http://www.sitefinity.com/devnet/forums/sitefinity-3-x/general-discussions/community-edition-removed-from-site.aspx
    it says:
"Everyone who has Sitefinity Community Edition 3x in their accounts can enjoy using it for as many future projects as they deem it fit for. The Community Edition 3.7x will always remain in your accounts. Also, if you have downloaded the Community Edition from any other source, you can continue using it indefinitely.

    Best wishes,
    Anton
    the Telerik team"

If I would install this comunity edition from:
    http://www.microsoft.com/web/gallery/SiteFinity.aspx

would I be able using it for one or more public sites? Or it is not allowed for comercial use?

    Thanks.

    Hello Anca,

    Thank you for contacting us!

You are able to use the Sitefinity Community edition for public websites. You are not allowed to use the Sitefinity Community edition for Commercial websites. Our license agreement states the following:
"...you may not use the Software to create a website that generates or supports the generation of profits for a for-profit organization..." and "...the resulting website may not be used for the purpose of generating profit."

That means that you can freely create publicly accessible websites that are not designated to serve commercial purposes.

I would recommend dropping us an e-mail to discuss your project in further details. Please use the e-mail sales@sitefinity.com to do so! Looking forward to hearing back from you, Anca!

    Greetings,
    Grisha 'Greg' Karanikolov

    Hi,

Just wanted to be clear about the terms of use for the community edition of sitefinity, are we allowed to use the community edition to create a test website that will support our main ecommerce website, this test website will only be available to the employees of our organization, basically to be used as a platform for our testing department. This is will contain information and links to our test sites and production sites to be used by the employees of our organization only

    Thanks,
    Annie

    Hello Annie,

As it would be an internal, non-commercial website that would be used for testing purposes, you are free to use the community edition.
Should this website be a public website, a supporting website for profit generation or one that  advertises a commercial product, you would need to obtain a license.

Here's a link to our Terms of Use that explain it better:

If you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to get back to us at your convenience!

    Hello Annie,

It is not possible to run Sitefinity 4.x on .NET 3.5. It will only run on .NET version 4.

    Kind regards,

    Hello Annie,

Unfortunately community edition for Sitefinity 3.7 is no longer available. What I can suggest is to create a subdomain and use the license you have for the subdomain.
