Sharing login between 2 Sitefinity sites

    Just what the title says... I've got two separate Sitefinity websites that happen to be running on the same top level domain and even on the same server. Currently one uses Active Directory authentication for login and the other is using the standard built-in login method. I'd like to tie them together using the AD login such that the user has to visit Site 1 using Active Directory, but then once logged in, can click a link and go directly into Site 2 without logging in again.

    I probably just made that sound a lot more complex than it is! Any help is appreciated!

    Hi Michael ,

    This is called SingleSingOn. According to MSDN you can use forms Element for authentication (ASP.NET Settings Schema)

    domain

    Optional attribute.

    Specifies an optional domain to set on outgoing forms-authentication cookies. This setting takes precedence over the domain that is used in the httpCookies element.

    This attribute is new in the .NET Framework version 2.0.

    The default is an empty string ("").

    When using cookie-based authentication tickets, this setting specifies the cookie’s domain value. The default value is an empty string, which causes the browser to use the domain from which it was issued (such as www.yourdomain.com). In this case, the cookie will not be sent when making requests to subdomains, such as admin.yourdomain.com. If you want the cookie to be passed to all subdomains you need to customize the domain attribute setting it to “yourdomain.com”.
