What is the purpose of upgrade_3_6_templates.txt?

Kind of a silly question, I know, but I see a file named "upgrade_3_6_templates.txt" in the App_Data folder of a new 3.7 Sp2 installation.  I'm thinking it's a list of control templates that have changed between SF 3.6 and SF 3.7, but that's just a guess. What is it for?

    Regards,

    Hi Mike Sharp,

It is used for backward compatibility if someone tries to perform an upgrade from an older version - say 3.5 / 3.6. Due to changes in the templates we read the file to avoid further issues.
