Best module for support pages

  • Posted on Feb 11, 2010 (permalink)

    Hi,

My latest website needs a support area. A place where users can read FAQ, outlined articles, tutorial video's and post questions. They also need to be able to search in this support area.

I am fairly new to Sitefinity so does anyone know which already available module is best suited for this solution?

    Thanks, Gawein Heymans

    Hi Gawein Heymans,

Thank you for using our services.

For the FAQ you can utilize the functionality of the Lists Module, I think that it will nicely fit your requirements.

For posting questions you can use Forums module you can create roles for user which you would like to be able to see or post on your forums.

Lastly for articles you could either use one of the built in Generic Content based modules (Generic Content, News, Blogs, etc) and write articles in one of them or simply create another Generic Content Based module (for example Knowledge Base) which you will use for the articles. Sample on how to create a custom GC based module can be found here: Sample Generic Content based module: Products module

    All the best,

    Hi Radoslav,

Thank you for the advice. I am going to use List as FAQ, Forum for user questions and blog for support articles, tutorials etc.
