Hey there guys,
It's been a discussion in our office about selling Sitefinity and what the key problems are when approaching a customer and it was unanimously concluded that there just isn't any flexibility. It's the hole hog or nothing at all.
Have you guys ever considered having 3 editions:
1. Standard (Basic Sitefinity)
2. Professional (Include localization and one or two other features)
3. Enterprise (Include workflow, versioning and everything else)
?
The problem is we have many clients that are very interested but their business just do not require the features available in your current "Enterprise" edition. So as a salesmen when you're competing with other CMS options you try to tell them that Sitefinity is the most user friendly CMS around, the customer responds and says that training will cover any serious discomfort on their users side. Then you mention versioning, workflow, etc. but they quite rightfully point out that they're not a large policy driven organization that requires this level accountability, especially for public/social sites.
For our bigger corporate clients who absolutely demand that the choice of CMS must include accountability (etc.) they don't have a problem paying the license fee as it stands now.
If you could have these other editions at more affordable prices for the small to medium size business this might expand Sitefinity's market share.
Regards,
Jacques
