Paste Images with text

  • Posted on Jul 31, 2010 (permalink)

One feature in Sharepoint that would be great in Sitefinity is the ability to copy content and paste it into a blog or wiki that includes the text and images.  As I understand it now, I need to extract all the images to files, upload the images into Sitefinity as a batch or individually, then individually 'reconstruct' the content by adding links to each image at the appropriate place in the content.

With Sharepoint, you simply copy and paste, then save; all the images are captured with the content.

I have articles with 20 or 30 images in them, which is time consuming and tedious to 'reconstruct'.  So much so that it makes me think twice whether I want to bother doing it.

WordPress has the same problem, so it's not just Sitefinity.

Am I missing something?  Am I not using the product correctly? Or is this a useful addition to Sitefinity?

    Hi Rich Winslow,

Thank you for using our services.

Unfortunately this is not quite possible within Sitefinity. However if you have the written HTML with <img> tags and urls set the content will be pasted with the images available within the content. We would not qualify this for a problem of Sitefinity or WordPress. This is rather a feature which is more or less unique to SharePoint.
