The Sitefinity Workspace
This chapter takes you to the main parts of the administrative end of a project built with Sitefinity. It provides an introduction to what Sitefinity provides to the content editors of the project: Dashboard, Pages, Modules, Files, Administration. The chapter also covers the available settings that could be made in order to customize the backend. One of these is the My Preferences option which includes Genenal backend settings, Dashboard settings, Page Editor settings. Another part of the chapter covers the My Profile section of the CMS.

Working with Page Templates
This chapter provides help for working with Page Templates in Sitefinity - these are actually ASP.Net master pages saved as page templates in the backend. All operations available in the CMS UI with these templates are described and illustrated here. These include setting template Properties, Editing a template, templates Versioning, Duplicating a template, Deleting a template.

Working with Web Pages
This chapter guides Sitefinity users through the process of creating and maintaining the building part of a website - pages. It illustrates how to build web pages in a few steps: Creating a new page, Adding an External page, Duplicating a page, Setting a Default (Home) page. It also describes how to work with the Sitefinity UI for pages such as the All Pages Grid View, pages in Edit mode. The chapter also explains how to use each of the available options provided for Sitefinity pages such as setting Page Permissions, editing Page Properties, configuring Page Workflow, and turning on and working with Page Localization.

Working with Modules
This chapter contains descriptions of the built-in modules in Sitefinity. These are the Generic Content based modules: Generic Content, News, Blogs, Images & Documents, Events, as well as Tags and Categories which are available for these modules. The rest of the Sitefinity built-in modules described here are: Lists, Polls, Forums, Newsletters. The chapter provides step-by-step instructions on all basic operations with the modules. This includes working with a module in the administrative end of Sitefinity - creating new instances, editing existing ones, configuring the module, and removing items. The chapter also includes instructions on how to set up and use the public controls of a module that will display its contents at the public side of the Sitefinity website. Localizing modules is also explained in the chapter.

Services
The Services chapter in the User Manual of Sitefinity includes instructions and illustrations on how to work with the available services provided by Sitefinity: Search, RSS Feeds, and Tools. This includes explanation on how to configure each service and how to start it, as well as how to use it on the public end of the website. The Search section describes how to create and edit a Search Index, and how to select and configure an index source for the Search service from the available PageIndex, BlogIndex and NewsIndex sources. This section also describes how to use the public controls of the Search service in Sitefinity: Search Box and Search Results. The RSS Feeds section includes how to create and edit a feed, how to select a provider for the RSS feed from the available ones for Pages, News, Blogs and Events. There is also instructions on how to set up the RSS Feed public control. The Tools section explains how to use the Sitefinity Export tool.

Users and Roles
This chapter explains how to manage users and roles in Sitefinity using the backend of the CMS. It includes illustrated instructions on all available operations using the Sitefinity UI such as: Creating a User Account, Adding and Editing User Details, Changing the user details of the Current User, Deleting a User. Also, there are details on Creating and Deleting a Role.

Customizing Built-In Modules
This chapter lists step-by-step instructions on how to customize the built-in Sitefinity modules by providing common customization scenarios. Such case is changing the Control Templates of the built-in Sitefinity controls - the chapter describes how to map external templates by configuring Sitefinity to look for these templates outside its assemblies. Another section of the chapter covers instructions on adding custom fields: adding custom fields to Generic Content Based Modules, adding Category Column, using RadEditor as a custom field, and using a Drop Down List or a Checkbox as a custom field. The chapter also shows how to add Thumbnails from the Image and Documents module to the News module.
The User Manual chapter Customizing Built-In Modules also describes how to customize the Response chart of the Polls module, how to add new providers to Sitefinity modules. The section Customizing the Generic Content Module covers common scenarios for the RadEditor such as adding and removing Buttons, populating the CSS Dropdown, and disabling the Sitefinity Link Manager and using the RadEditor Link Manager. The section Customizing the Images and Documents Module explains how to add Custom Fields to the Images & Documents module, and also includes description of the Amazon S3 support and Viddler support in Sitefinity.
