Pipe Components
Sitefinity publishing system allows you to modify the construction of pipes by changing their components.
The pipe components are:

PipeSettings - contains all information for creating a pipe. It is used to restore a pipe saved in the database. The PipeSettings is persistent. For more information, see Registering pipe settings.

Mappings - defines how data is transformed when moving through the pipe. The mappings are part of the PipeSettings and are persistent. For more information, see Registering pipe mappings.

Definitions - a collection of items describing the type members used by the mappings. They are used in the UI for changing the default mappings. The definitions are not persistent. For more information, see Registering pipe definitions.

Template - used in the UI. It describes which pipes will be displayed in the Create and Edit screens for search indexes and feeds. The templates are not persistent. For more information, seeRegistering pipe templates.
Sitefinity publishing system provides you with static methods for adding, getting and removing components used when creating a pipe.
