Configuring PayPal Payflow Pro payment processor

If when creating a payment method, as payment processor you have chosen PayPal Payflow Pro for processing payments for your online store, you must first make a test configuration and, after you have successfully tested PayPal Payflow Pro transactions, you can switch to the live configuration. Perform the following procedures:

Setup test configuration

1. Sign up for a Payflow Pro test account at https://developer.paypal.com/.
   Remember your user name and password.
2. After completing the registration, you will receive an e-mail from PayPal Payflow Pro, containing the following information:
• Partner ID
• Vendor ID
3. On Create a payment method page, select the credit card(s) that you are going to accept.
4. Select Test Mode radio button.
5. Under Test Mode section, in URL input field, enter pilot-payflowpro.paypal.com.
6. In Partner, enter the Partner ID, provided by PayPal Payflow Pro.
7. In Vendor, enter the Vendor ID, provided by PayPal Payflow Pro.
8. In Username, enter the Merchant Login you have chosen during the registration.
9. In Password, enter the password you have chosen during the registration.
10. In Timeout, enter 30000.
11. In Payment type, select one of the following:
    
    • Sale
      Directly puts the funds in the merchant account.
    • Authorize
      Authorizes the credit card, but does not submit the payment for settlement until it is done manually. The authorization expires in 30 days.
      You can submit authorization only transactions, if you want to verify the availability of funds on the customer’s credit card before finalizing the transaction. This transaction type can also be submitted in the event that you do not currently have an item in stock or you want to review orders before shipping goods.
    • Authorize & Capture
      The amount is sent for authorization and, if approved, is automatically submitted for settlement.
12. Go back to Creating a new payment method » Step 7.

After you finished setting up Payflow Pro and your ecommerce website, you can place orders and then see the report from those test orders by logging to https://manager.paypal.com, using the information from the e-mail from PayPal Payflow Pro.

Setup live configuration

After you have tested how Payflow Pro works and you want to move your website to production, you must configure the Payflow Pro to work in live mode. To do this, perform the following:

1. Login to https://manager.paypal.com, using the information from the e-mail from PayPal Payflow Pro.
2. Activate your account.
   For more information, refer to the e-mail, sent to you by PayPal Payflow Pro.
3. On Create a payment method page, select the credit card(s) that you are going to accept.
4. Select Live Mode radio button.
5. Under Live Mode section, in URL input field, enter payflowpro.paypal.com.
6. In Partner, enter the Partner ID, provided by PayPal Payflow Pro.
7. In Vendor, enter the Vendor ID, provided by PayPal Payflow Pro.
8. In Username, enter the Merchant Login you have chosen during the registration.
9. In Password, enter the password you have chosen during the registration.
10. In Timeout, enter 30000.
11. Go back to Creating a new payment method » Step 7.
