Editing the module and the module screens

Use this procedure to change the name, content type, and description of your module, to add or remove fields, and to change the screens, which the module uses. When you use your custom module to create or edit custom content items, you land on a page that displays all custom items created with this module. You can choose what information is displayed for the items by changing the columns of the list of all items. You can also configure how the form for creating custom content items looks like. You can reorder and group fields.

Editing the content type and the fields of a module

To do this, perform the following:
  1. Click Administration » Module Builder.
  2. Click the module whose screen you want to change.
  3. Click <module name> item fields.
  4. Perform procedure Creating a custom module » Step 6 to Step 10.

Changing the name and description of a module

To do this, perform the following:
  1. Click Administration » Module Builder.
  2. Click the module whose screen you want to change.
  3. Click Name and description.
  4. Enter the new name and description and click Save.

Choosing which columns to display on the page of the module

To do this, perform the following:
  1. Click Administration » Module Builder.
  2. Click the module whose screen you want to change.
  3. Click Backend screen tweaks » Add / remove columns in the table (grid).
    Under Existing columns the system displays all columns that the table, which displays the custom content items, currently displays.
    Under Drag columns, the system displays a list of all available columns.
    • To add columns in the grid, drag them from under Drag columns and drop them under Existing columns.
      Columns that appear inactive are already added, columns that appear active can be dragged under Existing columns.
    • You can delete currently displayed columns by clicking .
    • You can reorder columns by dragging them.
  4. When you are finished, click Save changes.

Changing the form for creating and editing custom content items

To do this, perform the following:
  1. Click Administration » Module Builder.
  2. Click the module whose screen you want to change.
  3. Click Backend screen tweaks » Reorder / regroup fields.
    A form displaying all visible fields and section headings appears.
  4. You can reorder the fields of the form, using drag and drop.
  5. You can group field in sections by putting them under a section title.
    • To add a section heading, under Drag between fields… pane on the right of the screen, drag Section title and drop it between the fields. The fields below the Section title become part of the section.
    • You remove a section by clicking .
    • To configure how a section is displayed, click Edit link of the section.
      1. If you want to display the title of the section, select Display title and options for expanding / collapsing.
      2. If you do not select the checkbox, the section appears without the title and you cannot expand or collapse it.
      3. In Title, enter the title of the section.
        For example, Advanced.
      4. Select Collapsed by default checkbox, if you want the section to appear collapse with the option to expand it.
  6. When you are finished, click Save changes in the toolbar.
    The form that you have configured will appear when a custom content item is created.

Deleting a module

To delete a module, perform the following:
  1. In the main menu, click Administration » Module Builder.
  2. Click the Actions link of the module you want to delete and click Delete.
  3. Confirm the deletion.
