Configuring form widgets
You populate forms with content using form widgets. Form widgets are added on the form the same way regular widgets are added on a page. For more information, see Adding widgets on your page.
When you open a form to edit its content, the following list of form widgets appear on the right of the page, when you click the Content button:

You can use the following widgets to design your form:
- Textbox
Use this widget to give the user the opportunity to enter free text no longer than a line, such as street address, e-mail, etc.
- Multiple choice
Use this widget to ask the user a question and give the user the opportunity to select only one out of several predefined answers.
- Checkboxes
Use this widget to ask the user a question and give the user the opportunity to select one or more of the predefined answers.
- Paragraph box
Use this widget to give the user the opportunity to enter free text longer than one line, such as customer feedback.
- Dropdown list
Use this widget to ask the user a question and give the user the opportunity to select only one of many predefined answers.
- Section header
Use this widget to display form or section headings.
- Instructional text
Use this widget to display instructions and explanatory text for the entire form or for a particular part of the form.
- Submit button
Use this widget to display the button that the user uses to submit the form.
After you have dragged a widget in the form, click the Edit button in the upper-right corner of the widget to configure it. Note that the Submit button widget is automatically added by the system when you drop the first widget in the form.
Adding custom widgets to the forms toolbox
If the build-in Sitefinity form widgets do not meet your requirements, you can create and use custom widgets. If you have a custom form widget that you want to use in Sitefinity, you must first register the widget in the toolbox.
