Create your first Sitefinity Template
Create your first Sitefinity Template
Sitefinity templates are part of your website’s look and feel and contain the layout configuration and the content that will appear on all pages within a selected template. To create your first Sitefinity template, perform the following:
Login to the backend of your website.
From the main menu, click to
Design
»
Page Templates
.
Perform procedure
Creating a template using the Layout editor

Click
Create and go to add content
.
The template opens in content editing mode.
Create the layout of your template using procedure
Modifying the layout
.
With the Layout widgets you can make your first template more complex and define different areas where you can add content later.
Click the
Content
button and add content to your template using the widgets.
Add content such as images or text that is the same throughout all pages that will use the template. For more information, see
Widgets
.
When finished, click
Publish
.
Your first template is ready and you can create pages based on it.
To assign the template to a page, perform the following:

The template you have created appears in the list of templates. To apply it to the page, click it.
Click on
Create and go to add content
to edit the content and layout of you page or
Create and return to Pages
and edit the page later.
