Telerik Sitefinity  features the Forums pluggable module. It provides easy manipulation of forums modules on Web sites.

Figure 1 displays all created forums in a Sitefinity project. Since no category has been created yet, all forums are placed in the category Uncategorized. In order to create categories, click the marked Categories link in the control panel.

Figure 2 shows how to create a category. After creating a new category, the value in the Forums column will be 0, since no forums have been added yet to this category. This number will change once any forum is set to belong to this category.

Forum categories are different from the ones used for Generic Content based modules.

When a forum is created, there are four settings to make: add name and description, set category and visibility.

Once the category is set when creating or editing forums, the list of all forums is organized into groups depending on the available categories:

A forum contains any number of threads (see Figure 5). Logically, threads are different topics within the main forum theme.

A thread has a title, and content, as Figure 6 illustrates:

A thread may contain many posts. Actually, the thread is also considered as the first post. Any answers or further comments to that post are also posts to the same thread. One option when adding a post is to display the previous post.

Each forum has default settings that could be changed, as shown in Figure 8. Security settings are also placed here: adding or editing a forum could be denied to anonymous users; posts could require moderation being published.
