The Challenge
FrameFixers was looking to take their business to the web so they could receive leads and sales from all over the world. They have a very unique, niche business that required them to get the word out through Search Engine Marketing. Their original website did not allow for updates to their pages without technical assistance. Also, their original website did not allow them to change any of the Search Engine related tags, such as Title, Description, and Keywords. They were not ranking well in Search Engines, and as a result were losing business. The client did want to maintain the original web design.
The Solution
Sitefinity had out-of-the-box functionality that the client could use right away. Most notably was the ability to create pages and content effortlessly, and to see the pages automatically show up in the navigation after creation. The next best thing was the ability to modify the Title, Description and Keyword elements of individual pages.
Once the client began using Sitefinity, many of the other functionalities became a plus. The ability to add images, and to tag the image properties for Search Engines was very helpful.
The original web design was easily brought over to Sitefinity using .NET Master Pages. Since the original website was in .NET 2.0, a Master Page already existed, and therefore very little coding had to be performed.
Once all of these elements were in place, it was very easy to add additional pages to the site highlighting new products and services of FrameFixers. Another nice surprise was the blog module, which was implemented out-of-the-box.
The Results
The results were very dramatic. The first result was the launch of the new website, a mere two weeks after the project start date, with only one developer being involved.
Within a couple of months, the Search Engines took notice and traffic began to sour. We used Google Webmaster Tools to make sure all of the Search Elements were set correctly, and issues that were found were easily remedied within Sitefinity.
Adding a blog to the site also helped out with Search Engine ranking, as many of the blog entry pages began to rank as well. Overall traffic to the website increased by 30%, and average time on site increases by 20%.
Sales took a nice jump, especially as people read through the services and realized all of the different products and services that FrameFixers offers. A notable uptick in repeat customers was recorded. Eventually FrameFixers was highlighted in a Wall Street Journal Article.
