The Challenge
Parkhouse Healthcare manufactures pressure relieving systems that are used in hospitals and care homes around the world. Their beds, mattresses and accessories provide comfort for those who suffer from immobility. A range of support services are also provided by Parkhouse Healthcare. With 26 years of industry experience, and the highest degrees of clinical approval, their website receives visits from around the globe.
Parkhouse Healthcare’s existing website was extremely basic, difficult to navigate and looked outdated. We were briefed to improve the design and architecture whilst adding features that would improve the user experience. The requirements can be summed up as:
• Increase the number of enquiries from the website
• Make it easier to find products
• Create better international links
Having struggled with a static site for a number of years, the marketing team wanted a Content Management System that allowed them to quickly and easily add, update and delete content. The CMS had to allow users to categorize projects by sector or product type.
The Solution
Sitefinity was a very obvious option for this project. The built-in features combined with the flexible modules system allowed our technical team to spend their time creating a brilliant website.
One of the major challenges of the project was to build a database of projects that the user could categorise by Sector or Product Type. We achieved this with the use of innovative mega menus to filter the product results. A module was built to handle the product database and ordering and front end features were designed to enable tabbed content areas.
The inbuilt News and Events modules were implemented quickly and easily allowing Parkhouse to get a professional website for a brilliant price. Sitefinity’s document handling system was customized to allow us to attach brochures to individual products.
The Results
Sitefinity enabled us to quickly design and launch a website that will enable Parkhouse Healthcare to do business internationally.
Although the site has only recently launched we are hopeful that the improved Search Engine Optimisation will allow Parkhouse Healthcare to appear in the top results for many more searches.
