  • Why Sitefinity
A simple to use, institutive and multi-disciplined content management system was required.
  • Technical Details
3 developers, 6 months development time, SQL database integration
  • Results
Utilizing only 3 developers, within six months the Tri City Rentals had a working solution, that integrated seamlessly with custom build virtual tour and e-commerce modules.

The Challenge

Tri City Rentals needed a new web presence to serve as the foundation to its brand in order to properly educate and inform its viewers of rental information, virtual tours online brochures/floor plans and more for current and prospective tenants.

A key challenge was to provide a solution that was easily maintained by non-technical staff and to minimize the need for employee intervention and maintenance time. Non-technical staff required a simple-to-use tool to update text and stories and upload images, when needed. The new web presence also needed to leverage technology to assist in the delivery of information in the most cost effective manner.

The Solution

The Tri City Rentals’ website offers prospective tenants information about available apartments and houses. Visitors browse for properties for rent by region, communities, and style through a very flexible and intuitive menu. Using Sitefinity, L&P Media was able to develop a complex website that is easy to maintain by users with little or no technical knowledge.

The new web application seamlessly integrates with third party modules for a virtual tour of the properties, as well as with the ecommerce module for online payment of rents. Content is stored in an SQL database, which means that it can be reused in numerous places on the website. As generally menus are created dynamically from the database, there is little danger of links pointing to non-existing pages. A real source of worry for websites that change content asquickly as Tri City Rentals.

We have found that the Telerik database-driven content management system is a powerful Web-based Content Authoring and Editing tool that allows our clients to create online HTML editing for real time web content publishing. It is simple to facilitate ongoing updates and customizations of Web sites with little need for knowledge in HTML or other technical products.

Our clients find it user-friendly to maintain and edit a browser-based, data driven application. It allows for multiple updates of the same information throughout the site simultaneously. The database becomes a searchable, archived and vital information resource for this client.

The Results

The new web application made it easy for prospective customers to find the necessary information quickly and easily. Due to the decentralized maintenance, content could be edited any time, form any where, and by any one with even minimal word processing experience.

Development time was approximately 6 months. Three developers were utilized on the project. Site developed primarily in ASP.Net. SQL databases were utilized.
