Challenges and Objectives Qbricks previous site was from 2006 and based on the publishing system TB-Server. They wanted a more modern, flexible CMS, easier to manage, and better suited for SEO. Qbrick has focused on being Northern Europe's leading Web TV supplier and for them it was important to show a lot of Web TV on their new website. Simply "Practice What You Preach".
The Solution Qbrick is the leading provider of Web and Mobile TV in Scandinavia. The company was established in 1999 and has since then confirmed its position as a provider of turnkey solutions for the company’s approximately 1,500 customers, which operate mainly within segments such as TV channels, radio stations, media, advertising agencies and production companies, as well as major companies, municipalities and government departments. Qbrick has 50 employees with offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö and Oslo. This year the company will have a turnover of approximately MSEK 100 through organic growth. The company is owned by its founders, the staff and a few long‐term external investors.
Before they selected a supplier and CMS for the website, Qbrick examined the market and looked at several different CMS. The choice fell on Sitefinity CMS much because of the good usability. News, case studies and references are presented on their new site using a modified news module and list module combined with a jQuery-slide. A server based IP-check redirects the visitor to different start pages (se, no, dk, all others to eng). Using a special control, Qbrick use external forms in which the answers are posted in to their CRM system. They also have a custom built newsroom that besides blog entries also show press releases and recent tweets about Qbrick. On the start page there is a jQuery-slide that automatically shows the latest blog entries, and an RSS feed from Twitter with the 20 latest posts. Using the Generic Content module makes it easy to add 3rd party systems widgets from example Twitter and Facebook.
The Results The project with Qbricks new site started in early April and the site was released in late September, so the total project time was about 6 months. The project involved two web designers, one developer and one project manager. A major advantage over other CMS that we worked with, is that our web designers can do much more than before. Projects with Sitefinity CMS does not require developers in the same way as other CMS.
The customer is very happy with the new site and the ease to maintain it. They had focus on increasing their Google ranking and spent a lot of energy on search engine optimization of the new site. The site has a brand new content and structure. It has also gone from a site in Swedish to English.
The customer is very satisfied with the speed of the new site, although at times heavy loads of up to 7,000 visitors in one day. We estimate that the new site is approximately two times faster than their old site. The new website exposes Qbricks products and services in a good way and drive sales. With all the sites connections to social media they see a large increase in numbers of visitors.
