    Hello Filip,

Thank you for getting in touch with us.

We are not really sure what exactly do you mean by Metablog API, so it would be really helpful if you could  describe what is the functionality you would like to have.

You could find all API references in the Developer Manual, API Reference section. You could take a look at the  Blog Module API (Telerik.Blogs assembly). Since Blogs is based on Generic Content, you could find instructions on how to add meta tags/fields to Generic Content Based modules  in the topics in the Developer Manual, Modules -> Built-in Modules -> Generic Content Based Modules section. Please explain if this is not what you meant.

    Thank you in advance.

    Sincerely yours,
    Nikifor Hristov

I ment http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MetaWeblog API, which is very usefull if you want to use tools like Microsoft Windows Live Writer. Its RFC standard - http://www.xmlrpc.com/metaWeblogApi .

    Hi Filip,

Thank you very much for the elaboration.

We are currently working on implementing functionality similar to that described in the Wikipedia article. Unfortunately, for now, we could not commit to any time framework for officially providing this.

    Best wishes,

I would also like to request this as an add for the future.  CommunityServer has in place and it works great.  DNN also has a LiveWriter module available.

Does anyone know of a similar product to LiveWriter that runs on a Mac OS?

    Hi Guys,

It is important for us to comply with the latest technologies and we realise that the meta weblog API can be valuable for our clients. That is why we have almost finished implementing the API in Sitefinity. It will soon be included and available for use.

    Sincerely yours,

Any updates on the status of this?  I am really looking forward to this.  We are currently implementing blogs and would love to see this included.  This is much easier for our bloggers.

    Filip, thanks for the input.

Awesome and thanks both of you?  One final question...Any ETA on the release date?  We want to move a bunch of blogspot blogs under the umbrella of our site, but I see this as a hindrance.  No big deal, but just wondering if there was a projected date?  Also, any chance of us helping beta test?  We are willing to play?

Are all of the 'parts' in place for the Live Writer tool in SP2 Hotfix?

    Hello Brook,

yes the Live Writer support is fully functional. As a matter of a fact all the guys and girls on blogs.telerik.com are using Live Writer for their everyday blogging.

I hope you'll find this information helpful. Let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.

Somehow I missed this whole thread and I'm just now discovering it.

The combination of Windows Live Writer & Sitefinity is extremely useful.  If you're blogging on the Sitefinity platform I strongly encourage you to give this combination a look.

You can read the KB article on this subject here:

    http://www.sitefinity.com/help/developer-manual/generic-content-based-blogs-metablog-api.html

I also wrote a blog post about this as well:

    http://blogs.telerik.com/GabeSumner/Posts/08-10-03/Blogging_with_ease_using_Sitefinity_amp_Windows_Live_Writer.aspx

Filip, Brook & Developer; thanks so much for requesting this!  It's a really handy feature!
