Hi,

Not a big one but I just noticed when you have workflow activated in news there is a small bug in admin which doesn't allow you to see the draft version when you change the title or something on an already published news article. Here is how to produce it:

1. Create a news item and approve and publish it.
2. In admin news list view click on the news title so that you get to the "View" news article screen.
3. Click edit and change the article title.
4. Click save
5. You will be taken back to the article view page but the original article title will be display and not the title that you have just changed too. The article title won't change to the new title until you go through the approve > Publish process.

This has stumped a couple of content editors as there change has been saved but they can't see it in the view mode until it is approved and published.

Thanks

Seth

Hi Seth,

Thank you for reporting this issue.
Actually, it is a known problem and has already been logged in our bug tracking system. It is still not fixed, because it's priority is low, since we intend to replace our workflow with Windows Workflow Foundation. However, we will try to fix it for the official 3.2 or some SP.

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem and my client is complaining about it. The problem affects not only title but also entire contents of the news post. Because of this editor canno't preview the news item that was submited for approval and the whole workflow is of little use. Is there any reason it wasn't fixed since February?

Regards,
-Szymon

Hi Szymon,

Sorry for the inconvenience.
The reasons we still haven't fixed this bug are:
    - there is only one request for this problem;
    - the task is too complicated therefore it will consume much time, from another side it is a small issue with lower priority than other tasks;
    - we will anyway modify this functionality when replacing the current workflow with Windows Workflow Foundation in the future.

However your report will push this task up and we will consider the fix for the next release.
We apologize again for this bug.

Sincerely yours,
Vlad

+ another request for fix! this error kind of defeats the purpose of workflow in news! I can't approve changes if I can't preview them...
