It would be nice if I could upload a dll containing multiple controls and specify which controls I wanted to appear in the toolbox along with the category using attributes.

Hello Jason,

Thanks a lot for the interesting idea. We will discuss it for some of the upcoming releases. For the time being, the  workaround is to delete the unnecessary custom controls in the .dll from the web.config and they will disappear from the toolbox.
