Hi Guys,
We've been using Sitefinity for about 5 months now. So far the overall experience has been fantastic. The product is excellent and the support even better. Well done Telerik!
The reason for my thread is to open up a bit of a discussion about the Look & Feel of the admin area. Firstly, I'd like to know from Telerik what is planned for version 3.0 in this respect. Are there any aesthetic changes planned for the admin area?
Secondly, I'd like to get the community's thoughts on the following suggestions:
1. Moving the Utility Menu in the footer (with the tabs for Live Site, Control Panel etc) to the top. This has been a huge feedback response from a lot of our clients who we've shown the system to. This is especially relevant when you add modules to the left menu and have long form-based pages in the admin area that push the footer down. I know that this footer based navigation flowed on from the RAD Designer but do you not think that it would be better usability to have it at the top?
2. Making the left menu in the control panel more Outlook-style with a mixture of the Panelbar and Treeview. The Treeview might not be necessary but it definitely needs a Panelbar. We are going to implement this anyway but I thought it would be something to look at for version 3.0 or beyond.
That's all for now.
I look forward to reading what people think.
