Roadmap
Sitefinity 5.1 Release
The Sitefinity 5.1 release will focus on several important enhancements, which will further improve the performance and the stability of the product. There are many new features planned for Sitefinity Thunder and Email Campaigns so stay tuned for the Sitefinity 5.1 release planned for July 2012.
Memory and page optimizations
The Sitefinity 5.1 release will bring significant performance improvements across the board. For faster performance Sitefinity will load components on demand, which will allow the Sitefinity Community Edition and the Sitefinity Standard Edition to work better in shared hosting environments. Additionally, these improvements will lower the cost of hosting any Sitefinity edition in the Cloud because of the lower resource usage.
Sitefinity Administration responsiveness
KendoUI will be utilized more in the Sitefinity backend - this will allow less JavaScript to be served to the user's browser, resulting in backend load times as much as twice as fast, allowing you to create and edit content items at an amazing speed.
Sitefinity Thunder new features
With the 5.1 release, Sitefinity Thunder will introduce a single-click-installation of widgets, modules, themes, and master pages from Visual Studio on local or remote websites. Sitefinity users will be able to reuse widgets, modules, themes and master pages across different projects. This allows faster deployment of your components on Sitefinity instances resulting in a significant increase in developer productivity.
