Building software products requires a tight feedback loop with a diverse group of customers, partners and users. It’s often difficult to balance the needs of each of the stakeholders while delivering a quality product. When teams start looking for new ways to innovate their product, a quote often attributed to Henry Ford starts getting thrown around.

“If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.”

The quote sometimes takes on a negative connotation, but to me it’s always been a call to action. Do we fully understand what customers want and are we delivering the tools they need to solve their problems? These questions are typically the driving force behind every Sitefinity release and especially Sitefinity 10.

Today I’m excited to announce the release of Sitefinity 10, which focuses on enterprise-grade identity management, security, performance and increased developer productivity that IT Administrators and Developers are going to enjoy. Don’t worry Marketers, there’s plenty of love for you as well.

New capabilities for developers and IT administrators include:

  • Support for ADFS and social logins such as Facebook and Twitter

  • Improved Cache Control, CDN and Azure Cloud support

  • Export/Import of CMS content to jumpstart your next project

  • Site Shield to securely share sites under development with external stakeholders

  • Site Warmup tool to deliver optimal site performance from the very first user visit

  • Improved diagnostic tools with more granular profiling

  • System health check API endpoint
