    Hello Ben,

Indeed, this is a problem in the news module. As you might already know, we are going to rewrite the news and blogs modules to extend the generic content module and that is why we are not planning to make any fixes or support the old modules. Our recommendation is that you wait for the next modules release (if your content is not too much) or use this one and wait for a converter to be released if it is needed.

Fortunately, there is a workaround for the problem you encountered. Here it is:

    1. Create your first news item.
    2. Go to edit news categories and try to add one. Here is where the problem exists.
    3. Go to polls, blogs or any other Sitefinity section.
    4. Go back to news and try to manage once again the categories. There should not be no problems anymore.
