My first attempt at getting access to the newsletter module (which worked fine on my dev machine) on production was:

Could not load file or assembly '3889AC4AF542BAC3C62ABB154E78FEA8, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. Configuration information could not be read from the domain controller, either because the machine is unavailable, or access has been denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070547)

The next attempt was to upload "3889AC4AF54....dll" to the /bin folder on the root which didn't do me any better as I tried to click on a newsletter:

System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

    Stack Trace:   Telerik.Notifications.Newsletters.WebControl.Admin.ControlPanel.Grid_RowCommand(Object sender, GridViewCommandEventArgs e) +436
       System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridView.OnRowCommand(GridViewCommandEventArgs e) +105
       System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridView.HandleEvent(EventArgs e, Boolean causesValidation, String validationGroup) +76
       System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridView.OnBubbleEvent(Object source, EventArgs e) +95
       System.Web.UI.Control.RaiseBubbleEvent(Object source, EventArgs args) +35
       System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridViewRow.OnBubbleEvent(Object source, EventArgs e) +117
       System.Web.UI.Control.RaiseBubbleEvent(Object source, EventArgs args) +35
       System.Web.UI.WebControls.LinkButton.OnCommand(CommandEventArgs e) +115
       System.Web.UI.WebControls.LinkButton.RaisePostBackEvent(String eventArgument) +132
       System.Web.UI.WebControls.LinkButton.System.Web.UI.IPostBackEventHandler.RaisePostBackEvent(String eventArgument) +7
       System.Web.UI.Page.RaisePostBackEvent(IPostBackEventHandler sourceControl, String eventArgument) +11
       System.Web.UI.Page.RaisePostBackEvent(NameValueCollection postData) +177
       System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) +1746

So I'm at a stand still scrambling for alternatives.  Any thoughts on why this is so fragile?

    Hi Colin,

    Thanks for contacting us.

Please browse to "\[YourProjectName]\Sitefinity\ServiceAssemblies". Under that folder you will find an assembly file looking like the one below:

Please delete this assembly from your directory, restart your IIS server and try to load Newsletters module again. If you are still having issues, please let us know.

    Best wishes,
    the Telerik team
