I've been wracking my brain on a bug I've been dealing with for the past couple of days in a Sitefinity project.  I was having problems getting the PageIndex to actually index any content on my project, but unfortunately only 2 to 3 words were being indexed on each page.

I found another post talking about this and what was discussed was problems with the HTML.  What I found was in an HTML 5 based template the <!DOCTYPE html> breaks the indexing service.  I assume this is an underlying problem with ASP.NET 3.5.  I fixed this problem by conditionally inserting the doctype into my masterpages:

    <% if (!Telerik.CmsContext.IsRequestCrawler(this.Context)) { %><!DOCTYPE html><% } %>

    Hope this helps someone else!
