    hi guys!

another question to add to my long list of previous questions ;-)

    i have the following dilemma.

development has been taking place on two sepearte servers, but now the time has come to merge these two.

The one server has a lot of custom controls and other modifications. the other server mainly has a lot of pages added.

So, i do not want to perform a development --> production migration (as explained in your manual), rather i would like to merge the one environment with the other.

Is there a way in which this can be achieved. The simplest method would be to move the pages added on one server to the server with lots of modifications and custom controls. do you have any advice on this?

    thanks (as per usual!),

    Hello Nick,

I agree with your idea of moving pages to the more customized version. I would suggest you write a simple script that would take advantage of Sitefinity Pages API to do so. You can find more about Sitefinity Pages API at this page:

One more tip: You can connect to the database of the server that contains pages, from the server that contains custom controls by simply adding additional provider to the and pointing it to the other database. That way you could initialize 2 CmsManager classes with different providers and very simply move the pages from one server to another.

I hope you'll find this information helpful. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.
