My dropdown list of themes in the page editor is not showing a theme. It lists the standard themes (Blue with right sidebar, etc.) but is missing a theme I created in the App_Themes folder. I deleted the standard themes from App_Themes but they are still shown in the list, along with an older custom theme that I have since deleted. Selecting "Blue with right sidebar" or "Levels" does nothing but choosing "Orange with left sidebar" or "White fluid" throws an unhandled exception:

[HttpException (0x80004005): Theme 'Orange with left sidebar' cannot be found in the application or global theme directories.] System.Web.Compilation.ThemeDirectoryCompiler.GetThemeBuildResultType(String themeName) +920 System.Web.Compilation.ThemeDirectoryCompiler.GetThemeBuildResultType(HttpContext context, String themeName) +73 System.Web.UI.Page.InitializeThemes() +8696095 System.Web.UI.Page.PerformPreInit() +38 System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) +282

    How can I fix this?

if you deleted the theme folder while the templates were set to that theme, you can fix this by creating a blank folder with the theme name in the App_Themes folder. This will allow the template to hook to this fake theme, so that it thinks it's there. after that you can load the template (or page) and switch it to your new theme. once you do this for all your pages, you can safely delete the blank theme folder.

    I hope this is helpful!

sitefinity team: it might be a good idea to have better handling of this, such as switch to no theme if theme doesn't exist and perhaps a theme manager where you can delete and install new themes.

Josh, I agree with you. We have this actually logged for improving. I am not sure when the right time for it will come though.

    Sincerely yours,
