    Hi Inna,

Installing Sitefinity and creating projects with Sitefinity Project Manager under Windows 2008 can be done by users with administrative rights to files and virtual directories.

To run the setup, right-click the .exe file and select Run as Administrator from the menu.

Once Sitefinity is installed, the Project Manager is installed by default in: C:\Program Files\telerik\Sitefinity3.x.  A shortcut to it appears under the Windows Start Menu> Programs> telerik> Sitefinity 3.x.
To start the Project Manager as an Administrator:
    1.    Right click on the Browser icon and select Run as Administrator.
    2.    In the browser window which opens, paste the location of the Project Manager (i.e. C:\Program Files\telerik\Sitefinity3.x).

Let us know if you encounter any problems.

    All the best,
    Kalina

    Good Afternoon,

I have downloaded and attempted to install Sitefinity_3_6_1870_standard.exe on a Windows Server 2008 machine with SQL 2008 Express.

I have looked through your forums for help with an error, but I haven't been able to find anything.

I ran the installer using the administrator account and near the end of the installation I get a message that the virtual directory telerik could not be created.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi Jivan,

Check whether you have the following settings set

    Anonymous Authentication is disabled.
    ASP.NET Impersonation
    is enabled.
    Forms Authentication
    is disabled.
    Windows Authentication
    is enabled.

Make sure that you are running the installer as an administrator. If the problem persists you could try running a blank project - where the virtual directory should be created manually.

    Sincerely yours,

Thank you for your quick resposne,

I have tried the steps you outlined in your reply but I am still running into an error near the end of the install.

I have noticed that the application did not create any folders under c:\inetpub\wwwroot\

Could this be a permissions related issue?  I am logged in as the administrator.

Do I have to turn off IIS before installing?
