    Hello,

We are using sitefinity 3.7 to convert a existing site to cms .

Here is the URL of that site : http://www.beeah-uae.com.

This site is bilingual , Arabic, and English.

We are getting problem with news module ,

Here is the like URL for news on beeah.

    http://www.beeah-uae.com/ar/news

If you click on any headline it will navigate to news details. I have click on first link it will navigate me to

    http://www.beeah-uae.com/ar/news/tandeef-ar this URL.

But when we are trying to create this using Sitefinity's NEWS module we are getting problems

    1. Common summary section [in all languages]

    2. we can not use Arabic title, because sitefinity use news title in URL like http://localhost/beeah-uae/ar/news/09-05-25/For_a_Cleaner_and_Healthier_City_Bee%E2%80%99ah_to_Launch_Tandeef_at_the_Middle_East_Waste_Summit_2009.aspx?sflang=ar

    3. And if we enter Arabic Title the its shows error parsing arabic text in URL

    4. Can we have custom input for URL title like http://www.beeah-uae.com/ar/news/tandeef-ar

the default module setting is urlRewriteFormat="[Publication_Date]/[Title].aspx"

Please review http://www.beeah-uae.com , we need to create same site in sitefinity, please suggest us how to over come these problems.

    Thanks and Regards

    Tanmay

    Hello tanmay,

There are to options that you could try.

    1. Change the urlRewriteFormat property value - for instance use only the title.
    2. Create a new metakey that will be used for your Arabic title, but use english or shorter Arabic version for the url.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Ivan Dimitrov ,
Thanks for your Reply, But there is some problem i am using 3.7. I have get problem with adding metakey.
I did not fiend files that mention in UserManual_3_7.pdf . then i google and find some links like
    http://www.sitefinity.com/support/kb/sitefinity-3-x/how-to-map-a-view-to-an-external-template-in-sitefinity-3-6-or-later.aspx

I understood what i have to do, but i did not get any .ascx file which will override embedded control.

Can you please send me sample code or document which will help me to add an additional field "Subtitle" in news module.

I am using 3.7 and Standers edition of sitefinity.

    Thanks and Regards

    Hi Tanmay,

I have visited your online site beeah-uae, its really good.

Actually i need to create the same News module both in english n arabic as you have in your site.

if you can provide me some help for this module, and how you perform url rewrite for a news item.

and also if you have news admin control templates. that would be great.

    I'm very thankful to you.

    Regards,
