    Hi all,

    I have created a user control to display product information. The user within sitefinity drops the control onto a page and sets some properties including the productid, thumb image and large image.

    I would like to attach the user control properties thumb image and large image to allow the user to select from the 'Select an Image' popup in sitefinity, where they can select an already uploaded image or upload a new one and it be persisted, however really I am unsure how to go about this.

    I have looked at a few posts and they seem to relate to a user of the actual live page being able to select and upload an image.

    Any help is appreciated, I am really enjoying working with SiteFinity :)

    Cheers

    Jodie

    Hello Jodie,

    You can implement image selector in your control. Then, you will be able to select items from your Images and Libraries folders.

    Example:

    [WebEditor("Telerik.Libraries.WebControls.ImageSelector, Telerik.Libraries")]

        public string SelectImage

        {

            get

            { return this.image; }

            set

            { this.image = value; }

        }

        private string image;

    More information about selectors could be found at http://blogs.sitefinity.com/IvanDimitrov/IvanPosts.aspx

    It is SUPER easy to use the code below to select an image / document, etc....Thanks!

    How does one display the content of the item that was selected?

    I have seen the blog posts that detail how to use content selectors (http://blogs.sitefinity.com/SearchResults.aspx?IndexCatalogue=SitefinityBlog&SearchQuery=Image%20Selector) but I can't locate how to display an item on the front end.

    Here is my situation:

    I have a custom user control that has a section where an icon is supposed to go.  I have wired the image selector to the control, and can choose an image successfully.  When the control renders on the page, I see the GUID of the content, not the content.  What am I missing?

    Thanks,
    Jason

    Hi Jason,

    This is a known issue for the ImageSelector property editor. The fix of the problem will be available in the upcoming release.
