    Hello all...

I am using Sitefinity 3.6 version.
I want to display the FAQ based on different categories. I tried using Lists module but there is no Categories section which I found in Blogs module.
Is there a way to create categories in Lists? Or do I need to use Blogs module or any other simple way?

    -Thanks

    Hi Dinesh,

The easiest way to implement FAQ section will be using GenericContent module( you can use ContentView control) or News module( with NewsView control). They support categories.

    Hi Ivan...

Thanks for your answer. If I go for GenericContent Content view, after choosing category, it is displaying FullStory, Posted By and Comments links. So, to remove them do I need to change the control template? Or any settings to remove them? I couldn't find any in properties section.

    -Thanks

    Hi Dinesh,

If you want to change the appearance of the control you should map it as an external template. The easiest way will be setting Visible property of the controls to false( or add them to a asp Panel control, then set Visible property of the Panel to false).
You should map ContentViewItemList and ContentViewSingleItem. More information about working with ContentView based controls and PresentationModes can be found at the following blog post.

    Sincerely yours,

    Hi Ivan...
I was not close to my requirement with the above implementation. I will explain you in detail.

I have different pages like P1,P2,P3 and these pages have child pages like P1_C1,P1_C2,P2_C1,P2_C2,P3_C1,P3_C2.
Now I have a right navigation with FAQ link which is common to all the pages.
What I need is, if I am in P1_C1 page and click on the FAQ link then, it should redirect to FAQ page where I need to show all the FAQ related to P1,P1_C1,P1_C2 grouped by P1_C1 and P1_C2 similar to the following format.

    FAQ Page:
P1--> (Need the category name here if we take ContentView or BlogPosts for different categories)
       faq1
       faq2
       faq3
    where faq1,faq2 are faq's related to P1

    P1_C1
      P1_C1_faq1
      P1_C1_faq3
      P1_C1_faq3
    ...
    where    P1_C1_faq1,  P1_C1_faq2 are faq's related to P1_C1

    P1_C1
      P1_C2_faq1
      P1_C2_faq3
      P1_C2_faq3
    ...
    where  P1_C2_faq1,  P1_C2_faq2 are faq's related to P1_C2

Similarly If I am in a child page of P2 the format is

P2--> (Need the category name here if we take ContentView or BlogPosts for different categories)
       faq1
       faq2
       faq3
    where faq1,faq2 are faq's related to P2

    P2_C1
      P2_C1_faq1
      P2_C1_faq3
      P2_C1_faq3
    ...
    where    P2_C1_faq1,  P2_C1_faq2 are faq's related to P2_C1

    P2_C2
      P2_C2_faq1
      P2_C2_faq3
      P2_C2_faq3
    ...
    where  P2_C2_faq1,  P2_C2_faq2 are faq's related to P2_C2

    and so on...

Can you show me a way to implement this?

    -Thanks
