I have created a custom ContentView control to handle a new type. It all works fine except when I create a template that does not contain the main Content field. If the control is not present, I get the error below. I was able to work around it by placing an invisible control with that name on the form but that seems wasteful and sloppy - is there a better option?

A required control was not found in the template for "Telerik.Cms.Engine.WebControls.ContentView+SingleItemContainer". The control must be assignable form type "System.Web.UI.Control" and must have ID "content".

    Hi Clyde,

Unfortunately, the only solution for now is to set Visible="false" for the literal control with ID "content":

    <asp:Literal ID="content" runat="server" Visible="false"></asp:Literal>
