I want to create a copy of the News Module and name it Press Releases. It can have the same fields as News. How do I go about doing this.
On the Press Releases Main Page, I have three links - 08|07|06 and clicking this will list ONLY the PRs for that year. Whats the best way to do this?

    Pls advice.

this is just an idea off the top of my head but if press releases needs the exact same module as news, perhaps you could try using a "Press Releases" category, and use a separate newsview control to just show items with that category. your regular newsview could show everything except that category.

I believe the news module has an archiveview control that might serve your second need.

    hope this was helpful

    Hello Femy,

Another option is to add your own News provider. For details how to achieve this, please refer to our User Manual > Working with Modules > Customizing Modules > Adding Providers.

After that News View and News Achieve public controls should be set to work with the custom provider - ProviderName property under section Data should be set to the custom provider’s name.

Do let us know if this helps.
