We have simple Sitefinity 3.7 (3.7.2096 if it is important) based site with localization enabled. Home page is set to default.aspx in sitefinity. Thus, after user opened site he/she sees url like this: Now we want to show the url like

In order to do so, I did the following things:
    1. Set default page in sitefinity to ~/default.aspx
    2. Created empty default.aspx file in root folder of the site
    3. Updated web.config and set redirectToHomePage to false in cms section
    4. Added default.aspx to IIS

But this did not help. I tried to disable localization (set persistenceMode to 'None') and default page worked correctly. If localization is enabled, I still got default.aspx in query.

I also checked other sites which my team created with Sitefinity and it seems like this problem is reproducible only on this one.

Any ideas how this can be fixed?

    Hello Konstantin ,

Have you made and script or wildcard mapping or setting any other redirects in IIS that could affect the default.aspx document? If you rename your homepage to something else like "homepage" do you have problems with the redirect?

    Kind regards,

    Hello Ivan.

I checked settings again and here are the results:
    1. We do not have anything specific in IIS for this site
    2. We have redirection ASP.NET module, but it is removed from site now
    3. I tried to use start.aspx and home.aspx names, but without success.

This project has dash in its name, so it sound like 'project-demo'. Can this be the problem?
