Hello everyone. I just got a request to create a new custom step in the events module. My users would like to have certain locations( street address, city, state) stored somewhere so they do not have to type the same information in every time. For example, our Performing Arts department has multiple plays running on different days. So the user must type in the address about 20 different times. I am an intermediate programmer and Sitefinity User. I am looking for advice on the path to get this going. First off, where to store the info. I assume the Database. Create my own table. How about an XML file? Also I assume I would need to edit the template and create a dropdownlist that will populate these fields from my stored locations. Any ideas on my next step? Will I need to create my own custom class to do this function or does Sitefinity have some Libraries that I can just use to get this job done? Thanks for any help in advance!!!

    Thanks, Darren

    Hi Darren,

You can create an additional metakey ( User Manual , page 214 ,Adding Custom Fields) and use it to store or retrieve your data. This will not require to create a custom persistence classes to get or set some data. In the template you use to create or edit an event item you can set some predefined values or implement a custom WebUIEditor that will allow you to quickly pick up list of your  items.

    Kind regards,
