We have 2 sites - both on same server.
one is live site and 2nd is dev site that is duplicate of live site so that we can test any change request from client first on dev site and later implement it on live if it pass though test.

Now lately I started to get following error when editing master  page in our dev site:

    Hi Gaurav Mehta,

Can you send us the web.config files for both websites. There could be some  misconfiguration in the web.config files. Please elaborate a bit on the way you have set up two different sites

    • are they on the same machine,
    • are they virtual directories
    • which version of Sitefinity you use
    • Have you made any manual changes to the database
    • Have you recently upgraded your projects.

Also make sure that the both websites are using the same version of Sitefinity.

    Best wishes,
    Ivan Dimitrov
