    Hi all,

I created a template for a specific page.  This page will be updated daily by users who want a very simplified process.  The page consists of common text at the top that IS NOT updated everyday, so I included this in the template as a Generic Content (and also tried including it as a custom control).

However, once I include this (either method) then I can no longer edit the generic content that DOES change every day in edit page mode.

Has anyone else ever ran into this situation?  Any ideas are greatly appreciated.  I'm new to Sitefinity so I'm likely missing something terribly obvious.

EDIT -- The generic content is editable when "Classic" view mode is used, but when "Overlay" is selected the entire page is locked.  Since I don't want to explain to the users that they need to switch to "Classic" is there anyway to fix this?

2nd EDIT -- Found a solution.  I just included two generic contents in the actual page - instead of that page's template.  It's working perfectly :)

    Thank you!

    Hi Brad,

Try using short closing tags for your ContentPlaceHolder controls ( "/>") and make sure that there are not spaces between closing tag of the ContentPlaceHolder controls and some div controls you might have.

    Best wishes,
