I would like to do the following using Events Schedule View:

1 - Ensure that the entire event title shows up (right now, if I have two or three events, the entire name does not show up for the later events in Month View.

2 - Figure out how to click on my events and view their details (Month View).

3 - Find out where I need to put the skin files to see the other skins that come with RadAjax.

    Hello medicalwebgeek,

Here are the answers to the rest of the questions from your post:

2 - The purpose of Event Scheduler View control is to display the current active events, depending on the period basis which is set (day, week, month). You cannot click, edit or modify these events from this control - this can be done from the Sitefinity administration.

3 - The RadAjax skins are embedded in the Sitefinity installation. You can override the default one by modifying the EventsScheduleView.ascx file stored under ~/YourProject/Sitefinity/ControlTemplates/Events. In order to change the used skin, please add the following attribute:

    <telerik:RadScheduler ID="eventsSchedule" runat="server" Skin="Mac"></telerik:RadScheduler>

In this example the name of the skin is Mac. If you want to try all available ones, please visit the RadScheduler for ASP.NET AJAX Online Help.

    Hope this helps.

According to your Dev Manual #2 should be possible:

    "

    Public Side of the Module

    Events Schedule View

The Events Schedule View control is similar to the Calendar display mode in the administrative side - it displays events in a calendar-like interface. Users could browse the calendar and get detailed information on a particular event by just double-clicking on the event.

    "

This doesn't appear to work, even after setting the single event page.

    ???

    Thanks

    Damian

On top of that, if you look in the properties section, you have a box for "SingleEventUrl".

Who the hell thinks that it is ok to have a calendar control in your events section that you can not click on an event and view its details?   Why even bother putting it in Sitefinity?

Please do not reply with "This feature will be available in a future release".  You have had this item in the last two service packs and I have built my whole events section around it and I need it to work for a project that I have been delaying while waiting for your next release.....

    Nevermind:

        <AppointmentTemplate>
            <asp:HyperLink id="eventDetailsLink" runat="server"></asp:HyperLink>
        </AppointmentTemplate>

Fixes the issue.  I found the solution by going through some of the other forums that I started regarding this.  I figured that it would have been fixed in SP2.

My whole issue is that some of the SF staff is shooting from the hips on trying to get a reply out rather than helping the user find a solution and todays reply is a prime example.

I have the same issue with viewing event details in the RadScheduler month view. The eventDetailsLink Hyperlink creates a link like  /[publicationDate]/[Title].aspx This is not very helpful because you would have to make a new page for every event you create and constantly update them. Is there a way to change the link that is created or another way to bind it on the events? So you can link to a single page with an event viewer and set  an event id like in a news list module?

    Hi Dan,

you do not need to create a new page for each event and keep them updated. Simply point the EventsScheduleView control (by setting the SingleEventPage property) to the page which has EventsView control on it. Sitefinity will automatically pass the id of the event (users don't see it because of UrlRewriting).

I am sorry if we have not make this clear in our documentation.

I hope you'll find this information helpful. Let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.

    Kind regards,
    Ivan

I have the EventsScheduleView control on a page. I have created a sub page and put the EventsView control on it. The EventsView control is setup in the auto mode. When I click on an event in the EventsScheduleView control, I get a 404 error. If I navigate directly to the page with the EventsView control on it, then I can click on an event and get the details. After this, I can then go back to the main page, with the EventsScheduleView control, and the links work.

It is as if the link from the EventsScheduleView control will only work once the page with the EventsView control is run first. I am using 3.2 SP2 Hotfix 1616

    Hello Richard Baugh,

This issue is related to the Sitefinity cache. We have made some changes and improvements and this error is no more reproducible in our internal builds.
You should have no problems after upgrading to our next version which is coming up in the beginning of the next week.

We do apologize for the inconvenience and hope the time frame for the solution is acceptable.
