I want to expose the RadEditor to my end users to allow them to enter HTML and copy & paste content from Microsoft Word. This content will get stored in a separate database as part of their profile information - it will not directly update the content of a page in SiteFinity. However, I am having difficulty getting the RadEditor to function properly within a SiteFinity page.
I am using SiteFinity 3.5 community edition with user controls developed in VB.Net 2.0. I have tried using both the Telerik.Web.UI that came with the SiteFinity installation, and the 2.0 (from \bin not \bin35) version that came with a trial version of the Telerik controls that I downloaded recently.
The RadEditor always renders with all the toolbar buttons, etc. but there is a little blue dot next to them. Clicking on any of the toolbar buttons sends the user to the top of the page but does nothing else. The HTML/Design/Preview tabs cannot be selected (It is stuck on Design), and one cannot type within the content area. In fact, when looking at the source for the page, it appears that the <Content> tag is never even rendered.
I was able to get the RadEditor to work properly in a stand-alone test 3.5 website (very quickly and easily), as well as a stand-alone test 2.0 website (much more difficult with having to install AJAX 1.0 and do lots of web.config mods). It even works on a user control in the stand-alone 2.0 website.
Does anyone have any idea what I need to do to get this working within the SiteFinity website?
