We want to extend a basic list-item with 1 (or more) fields. For instance, adding an Item Helptext.
Also this field must be editble by the admin.

Is there a way of extending a List item with extra fields We are working on version 3.6.(1936.2) ?
I know how to add metatags to an Image Library and get it to work (thanks to the admins over here .. ;) ...), but I don't see anything similag for a List Item.

If this is not possible, whats the recomended alternative to achieve this goal ? Extending Generic Content, Creating a new module, or ..... ?

    With Kind Regards,

    Hi Marc Potters,

Lists module is not a Generic Content based module which means that you cannot use metakeys. My suggestion is using GenericContent module, or create a custom module that inherits from Generic Content. There you can remove some controls and metakleys or just add required fields. If you want to use Lists, you should also create a custom module, but you need to persists the values of the newly added fields(Item Helptext.) with nolics.
