I'm looking into rewriting our extranet site using sitefinity.  Currently we use url string that has a encrypted id that is passed and authenticated so user does not have to sign in on every visit.  Would this be possible to do with sitefinity?  Every case I have read has the user login to the portal but I would like to "create" a specific url string for each customer to use as a link to get to their portal.

    Hi Tom,

Yes this is possible to be done with Sitefinity.

    You should follow these steps:

    1. Use Forms Authentication.
    2. Once you have the unique id, you pass it to a table containing all users. Then you find the username by this ID.
    3. Once you have the username, you set the authentication cookie for it, authenticate the user, then redirect it to the backend section.

    I hope this helps.
