I'm trying to evaluate frameworks to develop a site in for a company [man, never thought I'd have to make one of these posts, hehe] and I need a few points clarified, examples provided - mostly so I don't have to stumble around blindly trying things for a few days, as I got the notice today and need a decision ... tomorrow. Yay me!
How well does SiteFinity do in mobile browsers? We'll assume 'full' browsers, such as the iPhone [that was an example given to me].
How flexible are the permissions in sitefinity? The thing I'm maininly looking for is module level custom permissions. Not roles, but permissions for the module to assign roles to.
I come from a DotNetNuke background and I can add custom permissions that can have individuals or roles assigned to them for my module, does this ability exist in site finity? I have to assume so, since I see things like blog and forum available; but I'd like to see some code samples on how to implement and consume the custom permissions.
Are any telerik licences included with sitefinity, even if just usable in sitefinity? We're looking to use ASP.NET AJAX controls as well as silverlight [such as the map and chart], would a seperate licence be needed for those?
How is developing a module compared to DNN [for anyone that knows]? I'm not concerned about "oh it's easier/harder" - more about the ability to use all of the .NET framework, as I can in DNN. I want to make sure I'm unrestricted in what my module can do programatically.
I think that's all for now.
