    On our master page we have several links and would like to know how to eliminate specific items from being indexed in the Sitefinity search control.  Otherwise a simple search returns all pages and most are unrelated to the search.  I have noticed some comments as to filtering content and weighting the results.  Is there a good resource explaining all of this?

    Hello Bart Welch,

     When you have finished indexing a new xml file is generated under ~/App_Data/Search/Index name here/
    The file contains field nodes with attributes

    <field name="hide" weight="-1" indexAttribute="" filterTag="div" filterAttributes="id:Footer" />

    name = some name
    weight = -1 will not be indexed
    weight = 1 will be indexed
    filterTag = we are getting the div
    filterAttributes - we are getting the ID ot the div

    We are hiding all controls that are located in our holder.

    <div id="Footer"><table id="ctl00_Content_ctl00_Link1" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0" style="border-collapse:collapse;">

    To hide the control only
