Is there a way to build a separate geomapping control.
    And
How is the control shown in the single event page. I can't see any reference for it in the ascx file.

    Hi Kwinten Volckaert,

The map is displayed inside of ASP Panel control (id="mapPanel"). As for building a separate geomapping control, I would say that it is possible, but it would help if you could give me more information on your specific scenario. Then perhaps we can discuss it in more detail.

    Best wishes,

Well I was thinkig of making a seperate control that I could insert into a page when I needed it. Offcourse I would like to use the settings I can insert into the event geomapping settings (or the web.config)

On another note. When I insert the google api key, I get an error sayingt hat the website url is wrong...I'm currently only using the develompent pc (and have a the dns rerouted internally)

    Hello Kwinten Volckaert,

to develop a custom geomapping control and use the settings from Events module, you can use the following members of EventsManager class:

    - GetGoogleMapsJavaScriptUrl() - returns correct url for the Google Maps AJAX API (url + key)
    - GetYahooMapsJavaScriptUrl() - returns correct url for the Yahoo Maps AJAX API (url + key)
    - GetLiveSearchMapsJavaScriptUrl() - returns url for the Live Search Maps

    - GoogleMapsEnabled - returns whether user has enabled Google Maps through geomapping settings
    - YahooMapsEnabled - returns whether user has enabled Yahoo Maps through geomapping settings
    - LiveSearchMapsEnabled - returns whether user has enabled Live Search Maps through geomapping settings

The api itself and the control, unfortunately, you'll have to implement on your own.

As for the Google API key, I am not sure what's the domain or the name of your host. Personally, when developing I generate a key for "localhost" and it works, however it may be different for you. Let us know a bit more about the setting you have and we'll try to help.

I hope I was able to help you.
