I want to add additional control like Dropdownlist and Checkboxlist to the current search functionality, so that the search criteria should consider the values selected in the Dropdownlist and checkboxlist and also the text entered in the search text box, how will I be able to do that?

    Hi Shekar,

You can modify Sitefinity\ControlTemplates\Search\SearchBox.ascx. There you can implement your custom controls and send the data in the query string, so that it will be passed to SearchResults control.

    Thanks Ivan,

I have added 2 controls on the searchBox.ascx file, but how to send these values in querystring, i am trying to do it with javascript but for this i need to enable the browser capability on each of the user machines. so just need a work around to implement the logic in the server side (ie) on the search button click event, rather than doing it on client side javascript. If you can provide me some sample code then it will be really helpful. Thanks again.

    Hi Shekar,

When you click the button you can get the url, make response.redirect and append the query string value to the url.

    All the best,
